The Latest Polls Show Obama Is Kicking McCain's Rear

The latest polls are out, and the news does NOT look pretty for John McCain:

The Rasmussen Reports daily presidential tracking poll for Friday shows Barack Obama with 50% of the voters behind him while John McCain has just 45%.

Electoral-Vote.com has updated the electoral map, and according to their results, Obama would get 286 electoral votes if the election was held today, and McCain would only get 252.

A new Detroit Free Press-WDIV survey shows Democrat Barack Obama leading Republican John McCain in Michigan by 13 percentage points.

That latest CNN poll has Obama at 51 nationwide and McCain at 46 percent nationwide.

In the latest FOX News Poll, Obama has reclaimed the lead over McCain 45% to 39%.

Time magazine is reporting that Obama is gaining significant ground in swing states.

So what does this all mean? It means that if the election was held today we would be congratulating President Obama. However, there are still 3 presidential debates and one vice-presidential debate to go, so things could still change.

Sarah Palin: "I Think I Will See Jesus Come Back To Earth In My Lifetime"

When Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, she apparently was not afraid to let her evangelical beliefs be known.

Wasilla resident, Phil Munger, a music composer and teacher said this about Palin: "She looked in my eyes and said, 'Yes, I think I will see Jesus come back to earth in my lifetime'."

Munger also claims to have discussed creation and evolution with Palin.

The Independent is reporting that Munger also said the following about Palin: "She wanted to get people who believed in creationism on the [school] board. I bumped into her after my band played at a graduation ceremony at the Assembly of God [a church]. I said, 'Sarah, how can you believe in creationism – your father's a science teacher.' And she said, 'We don't have to agree on everything.' I pushed her on the earth's creation, whether it was really less than 7,000 years old and whether dinosaurs and humans walked the earth at the same time. And she said yes, she'd seen images somewhere of dinosaur fossils with human footprints in them."

Beliefs such as these are alarming some Americans who aren't sure that they agree with Palin on these issues.

So is there any rational reason for Palin to believe that Jesus could be coming back to earth in our lifetimes?

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are two of the largest corporations in the world, and if they were countries, their gross domestic products would be bigger than most of the nations in the world.

And now Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have FAILED.

The reserves of America's local banks are gone. The financial institutions of the United States have borrowed an insane amount of money from the Federal Reserve this year just to stay afloat. Many have already failed. America's financial system has never experienced a crisis of this magnitude.

The biggest debt bubble in the history of the world is beginning to burst.

For decades Americans have lived like kings and queens.....enjoying the biggest party the world has ever known.....but financed with ever increasing amounts of debt.

Once upon a time, the United States was the biggest creditor in the entire world. But those days are long gone. Now America is the biggest debtor nation to ever exist on the earth.

America was the wealthiest nation in the world, but that was never enough. Americans always had to have a bigger car, a bigger house and an endless supply of "stuff". So the American government piled up debt, American companies gorged on debt, and Americans made using credit cards into a national pastime.

And if you include the future liabilities that the United States government has committed to such as future Social Security and Medicare payments, then the total debt of the federal government is over 59 TRILLION dollars.

Now that many of America's jobs have gone overseas, the price of gasoline is shooting through the roof, and tons of people are losing their homes, do we find that Americans are learning their lesson?

Instead of showing restraint, Americans have jammed the accelerator to the floor.

Prices are increasing dramatically while wages are not. Jobs are being shipped overseas and factories are being closed. America's largest banks and financial institutions are teetering on the brink of failure. Homes are being foreclosed at record rates. Personal bankruptcies recently hit an all time high. And what is the answer that the politicians are giving to America?

Spending even more money and getting us into even more debt.

It is time to face the truth.

#8) Since 1976 all 11 vice presidential nominees of both political parties have been either members or former members of the U.S. Congress. Now here comes Palin, and she is not part of "the establishment". The establishment doesn't like outsiders, and they tend to rip apart anyone who doesn't belong.

#9) The global warming crowd hates Palin. According to the Washington Post, "Sarah Palin told voters there she wasn't sure climate change wasn't simply part of a natural warming cycle." In addition, Palin told NewsMax, "I'm not one.....who would attribute it to being man-made."

#10) Troopergate has become a huge issue for McCain and Palin. Did Sarah Palin and her staff pressure and then fire the public safety commissioner, Walter Monegan, because he did not fire Palin's ex-brother-in-law, Mike Wooten, from the state police after he threatened Palin's sister and other family members in 2005? Perhaps we will never know, but this scandal is something the McCain campaign is now wishing that they did not have to deal with.

#11) It turns out that Palin was not telling the whole truth regarding her position on the "bridge to nowhere". Apparently Palin was originally a big fan of the bridge. "She was the only candidate who was saying, 'We're going to build that bridge,'" former Alaska governor Tony Knowles, a Democrat who lost to Palin in the 2006 general election, told the Washington Post. "She's taking a position now which certainly wasn't what it was when she was campaigning."

So will John McCain replace Sarah Palin on the ticket?
